Turnipseed Pinhoti Outpost celebrates Alabama heritage, wild places, Coosa River stewardship, and sustainable agriculture with farm and gardens. Complementing a fascination of education, conservation, and community beautification through quality products and design. Promoting passion for children and adults to thrive through educational programs dealing with wildlife, forestry, and conservation
The owner: The roots of Pinhoti Outpost originated with owner Ashleigh and her daughter, both wanderlust hearts born and raised from the Coosa River Valley and the southern part of the Appalachian Trail. A mother-daughter bond of food from seed to table, family heirlooms, and southern trades handed down. Both enjoy hiking, kayaking, gardening, and fishing in Alabama and Alaska but call home nestled beside the Pinhoti Trailhead.
Turnipseed Pinhoti Outpost owners respect "Pinhoti" as a Creek Indian word meaning "turkey home." We respectfully acknowledge that the Pinhoti Trail is on Muscogee/Creek, Cherokee, East, and Yuchi ancestral lands on which we live, work, and play. We deeply thank these individuals, communities, and tribes for their original and continued stewardship.
